5 Pinterest Boards You Should Make Right Now

5 Pinterest Boards You Should Make Right Now

Did you know there are more than 10 million boards on Pinterest?

And yet, coming up with new board ideas for your business account can be so hard!

We certainly have no trouble making board after board for our personal accounts (at 2am no less), so what gives?

There’s simply just a lot more to consider when making boards for your business account - since you need to create them with your customer in mind and not yourself.

So, if you’re in need of some inspiration, here are 5 essential boards you can create right now that will resonate with your audience and help to grow your account!

1. AN INSPIRATION BOARD

96% of Pinterest%u2019s top searches are unbrandedCreate an inspiration board that ever so subtly ties back to your products. For instance, if you’re a beauty brand, consider making boards like “Wedding Nails Inspo” or “Birthday Hairstyles”. In fact, the top Pinterest searches of 2024 so far include nails and hairstyles - so if you are a beauty brand, we suggest you jump on it!

You can then fill these boards with re-pins from other users and sprinkle in some of your own product pins - sneaky, we know. It’s important to remember that while most platforms (ahem, Instagram) are busy pushing ads up and inspirational content down, Pinterest remains a safe haven for pure creativity, with 96% of its top searches unbranded.

This approach is a great way to engage your target audience and show them how your products fit  seamlessly into their lives, without being overly sale-sy!

2.  A TRENDING TOPIC BOARD

If you’re trying to increase your number of views, create some boards based on the latest trends - like “Clean Girl Makeup Inspo” or “Styling Kitten Heels. Although these boards aren't particularly evergreen and you might end up deleting them eventually, they are a wonderful way to bring in lots of new viewers.

Not really sure what’s trending? Take a look at Pinterest Trends!

This will give you a good idea of what topics people are searching for, and what keywords they use to search. You can use those keywords as ideas for your Pinterest board titles, descriptions and the pins you add to the board. It literally couldn’t be easier!

3. A PRODUCT COLLECTION BOARD

75% of weekly Pinterest users say they’re always shopping

Organise your products into themed collections with dedicated boards! For instance, if you’re a jewellery brand, create boards like “Silver Necklaces” and “Gold Rings”.

Each board should feature a selection of pins showcasing different pieces from your collections, as well as inspirational pins that reflect the style and vibe of each collection.

Organising your products in this way makes it simple for users to explore and discover items that match their preferences - the same way they would if they were browsing on your website.

75% of weekly Pinterest users say they’re always shopping (we can relate) so it’s certainly not a bad idea to make it easy for them to do so!

4. A “BEST OF” BOARD

Collect pins that are most important for followers to see into a "Best Of" board and keep it at the very top of your profile. This could include pins of new product launches, or pins linking to most recent blogs.

Unfortunately, most viewers of your Pinterest account won’t be willing to scroll through long lists of boards to figure out what your brand and your account is all about, so creating a “Best Of” board at the very top is a great way to make sure the stuff you really want them to see is easy to find!

5. AN EDUCATIONAL BOARD

85% of Pinners use Pinterest when starting a new project

Educational boards are a fantastic way to provide value to your followers while driving traffic to your website (hey there if you've come from our Pinterest Marketing board).

If you’re a home decor brand, for example, you could create a board like “Bedroom Decor Tips”. 85% of pinners use Pinterest when starting a new project, so this is a particularly good one if you are in fact a home decor brand!

Fill this board with carefully selected pins that link to blog posts, infographics, or how-to guides that you’ve created. These resources could cover everything from choosing the right colour scheme to maximising space in small bedrooms!

These kinds of boards not only engage your audience but also encourage users to visit your website for more tips and insights.
